On the design
Designs put the book first: high-contrast cover art, restrained chrome, and typography tuned for long reading sessions. Discovery rails, streaks, and rewards surfaces share a quiet visual rhythm so gamification never competes with the page. Light and dark modes were treated as equals from the start, with color and elevation tested across e-ink, LCD, and OLED to keep the reading experience consistent everywhere Kindle lives.
